The Rugged Rides 6/24/2022
The heart vibrates. 4 months ago my world changed, suddenly and brutally. A nightmare we never want to think of, dark and cold, got me. We were almost finishing a day, one of the first great trips, I was leading. Suddenly the world switched off, and I woke up in the hospital's ED. Despite extraordinary caution, despite years of experience. But how? I was looking in the mirror, I had my blinker on, I slowed down. This time it was not enough. A car surprised me from behind, overtaking us greedily, at a road intersection, against traffic, on a double continuous line. It slammed right into my sideway. Now I'm okay, I'm making plans again, and Africa is a kind of magic. Do I have any lesson? I've thought about it a lot, I can't stand cliché. I just want to be even more cautious, look many times, turn my head more and more, and then take a way into the safe world of endless gravels.... Just out of curiosity, I'll also add that everything, literally all, the clothes I was wearing were destroyed in the accident or during the medical action. I know, cliché, but it was worth to have them on. See you on the trail, I'am back!
