I'm sitting on a deserted beach, Baltic Sea, sipping cider and reading a bit and a bit arranging a return track for tomorrow. There is no one around, no footprints in the sand. In the morning I will get up at 4.11am, just like yesterday and the day before, taking advantage of the long day. I am going to go back home mainly on gravel roads. Probably I won't meet almost anyone again, but I will see beautiful landscapes, wooden huts and numerous hills. Latvia has a population of less than 2 million, Lithuania less than 3 million. They are practically empty, natural and therefore they are perfect for clearing the head during a solo trip.
I have 4 days just for myself and I'm doing the western leg of TET Lithuania and then TET Latvia all the way to the Baltic Sea. The Lithuanian part is especially interesting near the polish border, where there are many lakes and the terrain is a little bit hilly, there are also very nice national parks further away, besides You are bombing along vast stretches of gravels, 300, 400, 500 km ... such a Scandinavian atmosphere.
Greta is keeping strong as usual, but I'm starting to worry about one thing, I had to add nearly 850ml of oil for a 2850kms. I'm getting closer an closer to the idea that this winter I am getting the motor apart :-)
Bonus: a mostly gravel liaison track from polish border to the Baltic Sea: Wikiloc - TET Latva Baltic Liaison
