Is this canyon too narrow? Nooope, it's just right, absolutely right! The bikes, on the other hand, are a little bit too chunky. Loaded up with luggage, they barely squeeze through the tight passage. Good thing we're not dragging along anything chubbier than the EXC right now…
Amazing canyon, though, we've been wrestling with it for over a good hour. And yesterday morning we kicked things off with a solid climb over rocky shelves, everyone's made it, I think only three bikes ended up taking a detour. Then we hit an awesome mountain pass with views over Chott el Djerid, after that came fast hamadas and a test to see if the chott wasn't too wet, spoiler, it totally was… Later we rode through the Star Wars canyon, passable, but definitely enduro style. Then a live military range where they were literally shooting automatic weapons, Rommel’s Road, and the oasis of Tamerza, plus the wonderfully ugly town of Redeyef with zero fuel available… So yeah… as you can see, some real wild stuff!
Okay, and we still had to get out of that canyon, but that's a story for another time…
